Its History ...
No one knows when Ole Jasper Newton Daniel was born. His moma died just after child birth and his birthday was never recorded.
But it was 1850 when Ole Jasper("JACK") was born
It was in 1864 when Jack leaves home and is taken in by Reverend Dan Call. At the Call family farm, he learns the Art of Whiskey Making from the Preacher. and enslaved man named Nathan "Nearest" Green.
Jack would later hire Nearest as Jack Daniels Master Distiller.
In 1906; after arriving from work early and unable to open his safe Jack kicks it out of frustration and breaks his toes.
The injury worsens and eventually takes Ole Jacks life!
